The
three cats on the 608 Club are spare and abstract, yet, they are sinuous, confrontational
and utterly cat-like. There is no background painting to define the cats by
daylight. That could be intentional, as the Club operates only at night and
probably would prefer to be invisible during the daytime hours.
Today, images such as these are rare. Businesses have come to rely solely on
letters spelling out their name or on a company logo. Something marvelous has
been lost.
